Accessibility Statement
Sports England were consulted throughout the planning and development stages of the leisure centre to ensure that certain inclusivity criteria were met, meaning that individuals with physical or mental impairments attending the centre, should share the same experience as the able-bodied participants.
We have several disabled bays in two separate locations outside the centre and good flat surfaces leading to and from the building.
There is internal and external parking for mobility scooters and easy access to all rooms and floors.
The centre has a lift allowing wheelchair users and the less ambulant access to the first floor, and we also have an EVAC chair in the unlikely event of an emergency.
The layout of the main gym has been devised so as to allow those with mobility issues easy access and operation of the equipment.
There are disabled changing, toileting and showering facilities on both floors – all feature a pull chord an emergency alarm system.
The centre has access to a defibrillator and has members of staff qualified to administer both resuscitation and first aid.
There are a number of classes featured on the timetable for the physically impaired, including Boccia, MS group and PosAbility.
